Stand Studio A/W2021

If the pandemic has revealed anything about our interactions with fashion and the designers of fashion, it’s that simply showing clothes via digital mediums is not the be all and end all.  The clothes themselves have to grab the attention almost immediately to guard against the billion other distractions available to us all at our fingertips.  Recognised for its wearable leather pieces and colourful faux fur coats, Swedish fashion brand STAND STUDIO took Copenhagen fashion week by storm with a nod to innovation and design that knows no bounds.  The A/W2021 collection was shot inside the CFHILL private art gallery in Stockholm, a place that perfectly highlighted the duality of the timeless and the contemporary within the collection.  Their winter collection played to their strengths and featured high shine statement coats combined with bold tones to bring some light to the grey autumn days later this year.

STAND STUDIO was founded by Nellie Kamras in 2014 with the idea to meet the demand for expertly designed, high fashion leather pieces for style savvy women and men looking for delicate wardrobe staples.  For this contemporary fashion brand, inspiration is found in the effortlessly chic Scandinavian simplicity and purity of every garment they design.  The resulting images feed into the inspirational and stylish excitement behind the collection.  Karmas herself is also known for consistently evolving the brand’s signature looks; expanding on silhouettes, elaborating on finishes and redefining their collection through experimentation with colours, luxurious surfaces and daring prints.  The innovation doesn’t end there either.  Forward-thinking sustainable efforts, like working with fur made from plant based fibres, as well as puffers worked up from recycled shell materials are just some of the practices that are part and parcel of their business.

With the A/W collection we find strong animal prints, quilted leather, sharp silhouettes, daring black and white check patterns and vibrant, exciting colours like purple, lime green and electric blues.  All of which makes STAND STUDIO the small brand with the big ideas to keep a fashionable eye on in the future.
