When the ‘battle of the fashions’ arrives on Europe’s slopes each year, it’s always best to have planned ahead for your campaign. Winter wonderlands can be magical places when you’re dressed to match, which is why the new LV Ski collection from the mighty Louis Vuitton is coming to a shop near you at just the right time. As LV themselves correctly state, “skiwear is a culture of craftsmanship in its own right”.
That craftsmanship returns this season in the form of a women’s and men’s offering built on apparel and accessories with bold designs and dynamic lines destined to turn a few heads and cause of few pile ups. Across the range, graphic motifs approximating a dusting of freshly powdered snow acts as a through-line connecting all the new pieces together. For women, winterised volumes are worn over close-fitting ski suits and sporty knit layers. And ski pants, technical trousers and contoured leggings are made to create multiple possibilities for the day or night.
For the boys, the aesthetic arrives similarly refined yet slightly more rugged, with an emphasis on technical detailing and warm padding styling. Looks like the ski parkas in black breakage topstitching with matching trousers in calfskin leather and the knitted jackets with removable shearling collars are designed to add a masculine edge to your après-ski or weekend excursion in the mountains.
Of course, there are also luxury bags, boots and futuristic helmets and ski googles to complete your look, and even skis and a new snowboard from the Maison – all sporting the famous LV Monogram pattern as nice little exclamation points. The tight colour palette runs from intense reds, deep navys, glacial blues, and crisp white and black to be freely adaptable across a range of environments and lifestyles. So, whether it’s the black run, the green run or the alpine trek, LV Ski definitely won’t be the ones leaving you out in the cold this winter.
