Burberry Spring 2024 Campaign

London plays host to a plethora of famous names for the new campaign. By THE FALL.

Burberry under Daniel Lee continues to build on the new dynamic instigated by the Bradford-born designer with the latest Burberry Spring 2024 campaign.  Shot by equally English fashion photographer Tyrone Lebon, London’s familiar alleyways, green spaces, residential streets and quiet canals provide the backdrops for his pared back story.

In contrast to the theme of the new campaign, the famous cast in front of Lebon’s camera comes with a decidedly international flavour – just like the city.  We have (get ready, deep breath), Arsenal striker Bukayo Saka (YAYY!), Amelie Steele, Britpop legend Damon Albarn, He Cong, Iris Law, Jessie Buckley, supermodel Jourdan Dunn, Jun Ji-Hyun, King Krule, Matthew Ball, Naomi Janumala, original Buffalo girl Neneh Cherry, Academy and Golden Globe-winning actress Rachel Weisz, Rakim Janneh, boxing royalty Ramla Ali, Rittika Ray, Slew, Stevie Sims, Nigerian singer/songwriter Tems and Tottenham striker Son Heung-Min (BOOO!)

It’s not just images that come with the campaign, however.  Lebon, being the multi-discipline creative artist he is, also shot short film clips with a number of the cast that incorporates individual voiceovers elaborating on what London as a city, and as an idea, means to each of them.  For example, for Neneh Cherry the city represents her inner sanctum, for Bukayo Saka it’s the love that he receives from Londoners that sustains him, and Damon Albarn simply picks out the experience of his regular cycles along the canals.  When it comes to Rachel Weisz, no words are even needed.  The sight of her hailing one of our famous black cabs is more than enough.

The underlying subtext becomes Burberry as a global brand and aesthetic through foundationally strong urban English roots; appealing to all ages, demographics and backgrounds in equal measure.  Perfect messaging for a fashion campaign.
