Bottega Veneta Winter 23 Campaign

As the summer draws to a close each year, the sunshine and warm days start to give way to fashion’s new winter campaigns as we all start to plan our attack on the season.  For many of us, it will be the clean sophistication of the new Bottega Veneta Winter 23 Campaign for men and women that will be focusing our attention.

Matthieu Blazy’s masterful collection is showcased through a series of images and a short film that indulges in the contemporary urban appeal Veneta is celebrated for.   The city of Milan provides backdrops to the story of seemingly hidden architectural locations and residences featuring abstract shapes and complementary colours.

This organic approach to clean lines and intriguing designs is reflected in the looks throughout the story.  Overlong shirts worn over bed socks and another shirt and tie underneath.  Strapless leather dresses with daring slits and thigh-high boots.  Casual blue jeans teamed with oversized trenches or slouchy coats.  Every aspect of new city living is catered for in the campaign.

Fashion photographers Malick Bodian, Louise and Maria Thornfeldt, Sander Muylaert each bring their own creative sensibilities to the overall vision.  Those sensibilities are then expanded on in the accompanying short film from filmmaker and regular collaborator Massimiliano Bomba.  Each one of our characters is seen coming to life entering and exiting beautiful Milanese entryways and nondescript streets.

The short film shows a cast including Alejandro Albaladejo, Diaz Awar Odhiang, Emma Balfour and Heather Diamond Strongarm moving around with a sure purpose; fixed destinations in mind.  Combined with the cool still imagery and Blazy’s Bottega Veneta AW23 collection, it’s clear that anyone with these plans in mind will likewise be moving in all the right directions.
